Stages of Training

Part 2

This is to test your driving ability and eye sight. You will be expected to achieve a very high standard.



  • The test lasts for about one hour and a high standard of ability is required
  • You will be asked to read the number plate of a stationary vehicle at a distance of 90 feet/27.5 metres
  • You will then drive on a varied route, including all types of roads and be asked to perform all of the reversing manoeuvres.
  • You must show that you have a thorough knowledge of the principles of good driving and road safety and that you can apply them in practice.

Within this hour you will be allowed a maximum of 6 minor driving faults.
