Stages of Training

Part 3

  • The test lasts for about one hour and is in two parts.
  • At the start of the test the examiner will brief you on the "pupil" he/she is acting out and tells you what lesson subject you are to teach.
  • During the first part the examiner will act as if he/she is a learner driver who has either never driven a car or someone with little experience of driving.
  • This is repeated again in the second session but this time the examiner will be acting as a learner who is near test standard or a driver undergoing further driver development.

You will be expected to maintain control of the lesson, be patient and tactful and to be encouraging to the 'pupil' at all times. You will need to be able to recognise faults/mistakes and advise your "pupil" how to correct them. The examiner will assess your overall ability.
