SAFED is a driver development course backed by the department of transport. It consists a day of assessment and training. It intends to improve the safe and fuel efficient driving skills of LCV drivers.

It will involve a whole day of training and is best done in pairs. Results are showing improvements in areas such as fuel efficiency, less gear changes and reduced driver errors. Some results from the SAFED training are showing up to a 10% reduction in fuel costs alone.
High accident rates, high stress levels and stereotyped images have all helped to give the 'white van man' a bad press over recent years. SAFED for Vans provides van drivers with the skills to address these issues, whilst aiming to improve safety and help towards saving hundreds of pounds in fuel costs at the same time. Up to 1000 deaths a year involve somebody who is at work, it is really important that company's take this issue seriously.
